PROJECT
GOALS
·
Augmented Reality Interface Design: Research results can create a theoretical
foundation for augmented reality design using neuropsychological and
behaviorally based, human factors models of spatial cognition in
information displays.
·
Immersive Display Designs:
Information display guidelines can establish parameters for optimizing
the placement of tools, organization of menus and data, and clustering of
procedures for mobile, augmented-reality and immersive virtual reality
users.
·
Usability and Cognitive Augmentation: Successful informational layout
techniques leveraging brain resources allocated to spatial cognition may
augment the cognition and performance of mobile users, improve usability of
immersive AR and VR interfaces, and enabling users to find, manipulate, and
remember the location and organization of higher amounts of information and
data than current interface techniques.
·
AR based group collaboration: HCI research may introduce new situation
awareness techniques to support user mental models of the spatial location
and behavioral states team members during group collaboration and
navigation in mobile, networked, augmented reality systems.
